Why sponsor us?

The money we raise will help to spread the basic technologies essential for building expanding markets at the bottom of the wealth scale by helping farmers at least double their income and their crops to feed, house, clothe, educate and protect their families.
- The money we raise will help to support herders and smallholders in southern and eastern Africa to manage their natural resources and build sustainable livelihoods on their land.
- The money we raise will help to provide the outstanding nursing and therapeutic care offered to the ex-Service men and women, cared for by the Royal Star & Garter Homes.
What we are taking on is monumental. To complete six competitive marathons in twelve months flies in the face of medical advice. To throw five mountains with an average height of Mont Blanc into the bargain, a 10,000 kilometre journey across the world’s harshest desert and most unexplored rainforest while setting up a charity project along the way is a good reason to sponsor us.
The fact that we have worked hard over a number of years to personally pay for this journey so that every penny given can go directly to where it should go, to those who need it is another.
We will complete all of the challenges in one way or another and would love to have your support behind us in the form of a financial donation which will be split equally among the three charities on our return.
There are a number of ways you can donate based on the completion of a certain challenge:

Marathon sponsor – the five marathons we’ll be entering cover a total of 160 miles, why not sponsor us 30 pence per mile? 160 x £0.30p = a total of £48
- Mountain sponsor – or you could sponsor us £5 every time we manage to get to the summit of one of the mountains = a total of £25
- VC 180 sponsor – How about sponsoring us 10 pence every time we reach a site where the Victoria Cross was won? There’s 180 of these in all = so a total donation of £18
- Or by simply making a one-off donation based on the amount you feel worthy for completing such a challenging expedition.
